“Where would you go…”: Fans Choose Their Abode in the World of the Dreaming From ‘The Sandman’

Apart from the superlative storytelling, another aspect of The Sandman that makes it a wonderful fantasy is the world created by Neil Gaiman. While The Waking is a mere representation of life, as we know it, it is The Dreaming that steals the show. As one of the Endless, Morpheus is the anthropomorphic personification of dreams. And, like any other celestial, he has his own kingdom known as The Dreaming. Would you like to know more about the realm? This video by YouTube channel Key Issues does a great job.

Unsurprisingly, The Dreaming is created and, to some extent, controlled by Morpheus. However, The Sandman is the metaphysical manifestation of every dream and nightmare dreamed up by a human. Does that mean the mortals have more influence within The Dreaming realm than the King of Dreams lets on? Regardless of whether or not we are the unique Dream vortex. If this is true, perhaps we could easily enter Dream’s kingdom, if we truly want to. Looks like the fans on Twitter are prepared to do just that.

The Sandman fans take a trip to The Dreaming

Recently Netflix Geeked uploaded a clip from The Sandman showing the interaction between Rose Walker and Morpheus. He is explaining to Rose the chronicles of a Dream Vortex, and how she can travel through The Dreaming and the dreams of others. This conversation follows right after Rose waltzes into Dream’s throne room like a boss. In the same vein, the caption asks the fans where they would go should they be able to enter The Dreaming.

Twitter users grab the opportunity with both hands and flood the post with the most honest as well as hilarious replies. For instance, one fan, from the looks of it, doesn’t want to choose one location. They probably seem like the “Around The Dreaming in 80 seconds” type.

On the other hand, Lucienne’s Library and Fiddler’s Green seem to be popular destinations within the realm. They may want to brush up on their hospitality skills and be prepared for a lot of tourists.

One Twitter user also wants to crash with Cain and Abel, the brothers from the First story. While spending some quality time with the adorable baby gargoyle Goldie/Irving/Girving, does sound wonderful, one out to be careful what one wishes for. Unless you want to end up in a grave beside Abel!

And then, of course, there are admirers of the king of dreams that just his mere presence would make them forget where they are. Our suggestion would be to keep The Sandman: Dreamcast handy. It will be your guide through the kingdom, should you lose your way.
