From Eleven to a Princess in ‘Damsel’, Millie Bobby Brown Goes a Long Way in the Upcoming Netflix Fantasy
Stranger Things is a show that needs no introduction and neither does the lead actress Millie Bobby Brown. The 18-year-old is one of the most sought-after actresses currently and her popularity only seems to grow. With successful titles like Stranger Things and Enola Holmes already under her belt, she is set to star in another one-of-a-kind project.
This Damsel is not in distress
Sexism in films and shows is definitely getting better. We are seeing an increasing number of strong female characters on our screens. In fact, even period dramas like Bridgerton are tinted with shades of feminism. We see characters like Eloise and Edwina, and even Daphne embody the difficulties of living in a patriarchal world yet emerge strong.

If seeing a viscount’s sisters and romantic interest play feminists in a Regency drama wasn’t enough, Millie Bobby Brown is here to one-up the role. In her upcoming project, Brown will play the role of a princess stuck in a tower. Of course, there is a dragon that intends to eat her. But, despite all the Rapunzel references, this film is going to be nothing like it.
Elodie would wait for her Prince Charming to come to the rescue, but, alas, it was her Prince that offered her to the dragon. Hence, the princess takes matters into her own hands and plans her escape. The title of Damsel comes from the phrase “damsel in distress“, except this damsel is going to save herself.
