Matt Smith, an English actor, is best known for his roles as the eleventh incarnation of the Doctor in the BBC series Doctor Who. He plays Daemon Targaryen in the HBO series House of the Dragon. And he also played Prince Philip in the Netflix series The Crown. But before gaining fame for this acclaimed work, he worked with Gosling on his directional debut. Matt had the most surprising moment when Ryan showed up for the meeting.

Matt Smith gushes over Ryan Gosling and his charm

In 2014, The Gray Man star made his directional debut by co-producing and writing the film called Lost River. It is an American fantasy thriller film. The stars of the film include Christina Hendricks, Saoirse Ronan, Iain De Caestecker, Matt Smith, Ben Mendelsohn, Barbara Steele, and Eva Mendes. In an interview, the House of the Dragon star Matt Smith opened up about how he felt when he first met Ryan.

Matt was going back from New York when he got a call from Ryan’s team. He stayed and waited for the actor to come. As soon as Ryan entered the room, he greeted Matt by calling his name and that made Matt go gaga over this gesture. As he himself said in this interview, “I was like, sh*t, Ryan knows my name.” Well, then they had the best audition that Matt ever had. Fortunately, it went brilliantly for The Crown actor.
