It was hip hop versus rock music back in 2008, and Kanye West became victorious. While both the band and the musician have held onto a massive fan following, the release of their albums turned into a competition. But despite the media comparisons and fan feuds, the band’s lead vocalist had his own reaction to the news.

While Guns and Roses have been around since the mid-1980s, West made his debut in the music industry only by the early 2000s. With generations clashing, the albums clashing became a hot topic of discussion, and Axl Rose was well aware of it.

To everyone’s surprise, Ye’s album outperformed its competitor, leaving everyone in shock. As per RockCelebrities, Axl Rose spoke on it and said, “I sent him a message that any nonsense from the media had nothing to do with us.” He made sure to send the message across before the album’s release and wished the singer good luck while being humbled by the experience.
