Taking advantage of the lack of censorship and overall relaxed rules, OTT platforms like HBO Max, Netflix, and Prime Video are experimenting with content for mature audiences. Disney+, on the other hand, has long maintained its standing as a family-friendly platform. Luckily, that’s about to change soon. Ryan Reynolds, our very own foul-mouthed, yet hilarious Deadpool, is soon going to grace the screens on Disney+. And with him he brings the insistance that some Disney classics should be rated R. Which ones is he talking about? Let’s find out.

Ryan Reynolds insists on an R-rating for Disney classics

It’s no secret that Ryan Reynolds is absolute perfection in his portrayal of Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool. Many believe that Reynolds is actually playing himself on screen. And Ryan sure emphasizes that every day with his public persona. He is sarcastic, hilarious, and downright goofy, exactly like his character. For instance, just look at his recent tweet.

A simple announcement about his R-rated film to premiere on Disney + made us question all our childhood Disney favorites. “Some Disney movies should be rated R for irreversible trauma,” posted Ryan. He listed Disney classics and gave far too real explanations about their subject matter.

He mentions Bambi for the “cold-blooded killing of an innocent deer mom, that will cause lifelong trauma.”

He even included the epic narration of The Lion KingHe said it is full of “fratricide, mauling, very possibly half-sibling lovin’, or at least kissing cousins. Seriously.

His retelling of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is sure to shock you to your core: “Breaking and entering. Borderline polyandry. Pretty sure those diamonds are not cruelty-free.

Reynolds didn’t even spare the high on emotion Disney epic, Old Yeller. He called it a “Total ugly-cry inducing straight-up murder of Old Yeller. Also, bear abuse.

Despite ruining our innocent childhood memories, we still adore Ryan Reynolds and can’t help but see the truth in his declaration.
