Ryan Reynolds is one of the goofiest and extremely talented actors in Hollywood right now. A testament to the roles he portrays in films, sometimes it’s unbelievable how similar he is to his on-screen personas. It is hard to tell whether he is always in character or he is actually the lovable goof who never fails to make us laugh. While his oddball nature and spontaneity might be entertaining, one can’t help but feel for his wife Blake Lively. He sure seems like a lot. The Deadpool actor, by his own admission, recently got into some hot water with his wife for taking a major decision without her involvement.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney indulge in some impulse shopping

On the latest episode with Jimmy Kimmel Live! hosted by Rob McElhenney, Ryan opened up about how he met the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star. Ryan shared that he DM’d Rob McElhenney to compliment him for his performance in a particular episode of the aforementioned sitcom. This particular DM, though, turned out to be a start of a beautiful friendship and even a professional partnership.

Reynolds and McElhenney ended up purchasing a Welsch soccer club, Wrexham A.F.C. which is the third oldest professional soccer club in the world. And what’s crazier is that they bought the club without once meeting one another. Unsurprisingly, the news did not go down well with his wife Blake Lively, as Ryan only informed her after it was a done deal.

Blake Lively is “not good” with being kept in the dark

Ryan illustrated how he broke the news about the soccer club to his wife. He said to Blake, “I have bad news and I have really bad news.” The bad news was that he “slipped into someone’s DMs again,” and the latter being that he “might have bought half of a fifth-tier national football league in Wales.” Reynolds playfully professed to still be in trouble for his spur-of-the-moment purchase and that they’re “still working through that one.

Ryan Reynolds’ first meeting with Rob McElhenney was in fact at the filming of their upcoming documentary revolving around the very same soccer club. The docu-series titled Welcome to Wrexham is about their debut in the world of soccer club ownerships and the many challenges the duo would come across owing to their lack of prior experience. The Red Notice actor also admitted that buying the club “was just a feeling,” and they did not have any previous ties to Wrexham A.F.C.
