The COVID-19 pandemic has cast an impact on people’s mental, physical, and emotional health. Therefore, many of us have been overwhelmed since then. After the pandemic, as we saw many people coping with life, as usual, some had a little more difficult time. Will Smith was one of those who had a difficult time during the pandemic, as he shared in his YouTube documentary film.
In the Academy Awards 2022, while we saw Will Smith losing his temper to Chris Rock’s joke about Jada Smith, we can also witness the King Richard star facing physical and mental health difficulties before the incident. As many celebrities are opening up about their mental health, Aladdin star also contributed to it.
Will Smith discovered some hidden truths about himself on his fitness journey
The Men in Black star gained a lot of weight during the pandemic. While he made a documentary on YouTube about his journey of getting physically fit, he shared some more details as well. While working on his weight, the actor also explored different layers of himself. He candidly shared what he felt in his documentary.
The 53-year-old actor said when he started this show, he thought he was getting into the best shape of his life. He confessed that mentally he was somewhere else. “And I ended up discovering a whole lot of hidden things about myself,” shared the Aladdin star. He shared that while writing his memoir, he exposed many of the unknown things that people didn’t even know about him.
While watching this trailer, we get to know Smith was having suicidal thoughts. Although it is not clear what he’s referring to when he says, “That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide.” He read an excerpt from his memoir which described the name Will Smith as a mere well-crafted character that merely protects the real man who is a coward.
The whole journey has been extremely overwhelming for the actor. Therefore, when in his apology video he said he had been going through his own troubles, perhaps this is what he meant.
