During an interview, Brown shares the process of how they prepared for her character when she just joined the show. Initially, her character was bald and therefore, as Eleven, Millie had to shave her head. It was a hard decision to make certainly. But this strangely strong vision of her inspired her to go through the process.
When asked about her willingness to shave her head to justify her character, Millie shares inspirational and wise thoughts of her. She said kids her age who had no choice, lose their hair because of various reasons. Therefore, she cannot be selfish and deny the process. She felt like it was a bit superficies of her if she said, “No, I don’t want to cut my hair. I want to be beautiful.”

Instead, she got inspired by those who didn’t have any choice and said yes to shaving her head. “I’m going to cut my hair and embrace it. And I’m going to inspire people because people inspire me,” thoughtfully shared the actress. Brown didn’t want to be like any other kid, which she isn’t, and she proved it as well. Her willingness to inspire and learn from everyone is certainly reflected in her off-screen personality.
