For Hugh Jackman’s Birthday, Ryan Reynolds Unveils Teaser for His Own Upcoming Film With Will Farrell and Octavia Spencer
Ever since their first appearance together in 2008’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have had an interesting relationship. Their long-drawn online and public pseudo-feud since then has been both hilarious and highly entertaining. From hurling expletives at one another to setting up pranks of varying degrees, the two never disappoint. Even their truce announcement was nothing short of a practical joke.
On the occasion of Hugh’s birthday, Ryan Reynolds, in his true-blue style, gave the real-life Wolverine a quirky gift. He presented a teaser of his own film while passing it off as something to commemorate Jackman’s special day.

Ryan Reynolds flatters himself by gifting Hugh Jackman a film teaser
Marking Hugh Jackman’s 54th birthday on October 12, his friend and long-term “rival” Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to wish him the best. The Deadpool actor uploaded a teaser for his own upcoming film Spirited. Made for Apple TV+, it is a Christmas movie starring Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer alongside Reynolds. The Canadian actor even captioned the post, wishing Hugh a Happy Birthday.
“This year, I’m giving you the gift of being much worse than you at singing and dancing. But at least there’s Will and Octavia!” wrote the Red Notice star.

The distinct caption perfectly encapsulates the equation the two brilliant actors share. This is not the first time Ryan pulled a stunt like that for The Greatest Showman actor’s birthday. Back in 2019, while Jackman was performing live, Reynolds popped on screen and sang the birthday song for the Australian star. However, it wasn’t as vanilla as you think. Check out the video for a laughter riot with a blend of heartfelt friendship.
Jackman and Reynolds most recently appeared together after the announcement of Deadpool 3 uncovered Logan’s return. The two uploaded a video for the fans after the zeitgeist messing post about the upcoming film. Their intrinsic charm, coupled with the constant back-and-forth banter, made for a delightful watch.
