Ryan Rodney Reynolds is a Canadian and American actor born on October 23, 1976, to Jim and Tammy Reynolds. He has garnered several awards over his 30-year career in cinema and television, including a Critics’ Choice Movie Award, three People’s Choice Awards, a Grammy and Golden Globe nomination, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is married to Blake Lively, with whom he shares three children, James, Inze, and Betty Reynolds. Before marriage to Lively, the actor was also married to Marvel star Scarlett Johansson, whom he later divorced.
Ryan is one of the highest-grossing film performers of all time, with a worldwide box-office total of more than $5 billion, thanks to his multiple appearances as Deadpool in the 20th Century Fox X-Men films. He began his career in the Canadian adolescent serial opera Hillside(1991-1993), then moved on to lesser parts until winning the main role in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl from 1998 to 2001.
Ryan Reynolds’ net worth
Reynolds has various business endeavors outside of performing. He is a co-owner of Wrexham A.F.C., a Welsh football team. He is also a co-owner, spokesperson, and creative director of Aviation American Gin. Because of his outstanding advertisement, the company’s revenues increased considerably from 2019 to 2020, propelling it to the second-largest super-premium gin brand in the United States.
Reynolds’ basic compensation for the original Deadpool was mere $2 million, but it skyrocketed because of backend points, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The film’s budget was only $58 million, yet it grossed a stunning $780 million. In 2017, he made $22 million, making him one of the highest-paid actors of the time.
Though it was not stated how much he was paid for Deadpool 2, it was assumed that he was paid around $20 million. With backside points, knowing that the sequel grossed $785 million at the box office, he might have made $30 to $40 million. This meant he was presumably paid $20 million for each film, with 6 Underground giving him $27 million upfront. With that stated, Reynolds is now worth $150 million.

Where to watch
Ryan Reynolds has finally found the part for which he was born. Fans were teased with the Reynolds/Deadpool casting in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where Reynolds initially appeared as mercenary Wade Wilson (who was robbed of his ability to speak and snark in the third act). Tim Miller's Deadpool, on the other hand, did everything right, and the brilliance of this actor/IP pairing was revealed all at once. Deadpool was a comedy-action success, full of hilarious one-liners, stylish action, and tonnes of entertaining fan service.
Fubo, FX Now
Mississippi Grind, directed by (eventual) Captain Marvel directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, stars Reynolds and co-star Ben Mendelsohn in a drama about a gambling addict on a road journey to a high-stakes poker tournament in New Orleans who believes his newfound acquaintance (Reynolds) is a good-luck charm. Reynolds and Mendelsohn collaborate to produce a tragicomic character study for the ages.
The Adam Project
With Netflix's The Adam Project, Stranger Things and Free Guy director Shawn Levy created a stylish, futuristic family comedy that caught the essence of '80s sci-fi. Reynolds portrays a pilot from a dismal future who flies back in time to find out what happened to his wife, only to end himself in the incorrect year and meeting his younger 12-year-old self (Walker Scobell). A smart mash-up of Back to the Future, The Last Starfighter, and other films.
Pokemon Detective Pikachu
Ryan Reynolds brought his warm whimsy to the Pokemon universe as Detective Pikachu in the 2019 adventure-mystery Pokemon Detective Pikachu. Detective Pikachu was a rare treat within the domain of video game movies, owing partly to Reynolds' appeal (and facial-motion capture) as the coffee-obsessed investigator, in an endearingly funny portrayal that's closer to his subversive Deadpool shtick than you'd expect from a Pokemon movie.
Sling, TNT app
Ryan Reynolds offered a riotously delightful performance in an eye-popping, inventive atmosphere as an NPC in a GTA-style MMO who gets consciousness and falls for a real-world player character in Free Guy, which emerged after many catastrophic delays to a strong box office take.

Though Deadpool 2 wasn't the lightning-in-a-bottle joy that the first picture was, it was nevertheless a viciously comic sequel that was often crasser and gorier than the first. Deadpool 2's narrative was very brief, with Reynolds' snarky superhero recovering from a loss and attempting to rebuild his life with the help of a surrogate family of supers, including Josh Brolin's future warrior Cable, Zazie Beetz's Domino, and Julian Dennison's pyrokinetic Russel.
Thriller with claustrophobia Buried, released in 2010, was another gamble for Reynolds. Working with very little to create a lot of tension paid off. As an American truck driver in Iraq, I was abducted and buried alive in a coffin with nothing except a lighter, flask, flashlight, knife, glow-sticks, a pen, pencil, and a cell phone. Reynolds gave a tense, nerve-wracking performance as a guy yearning to escape this real-life furnace.
The Proposal, starring Anne Fletcher from Step Up and 27 Dresses, was a charm explosion in 2009. Reynolds and Sandra Bullock featured in this rom-com success about a female CEO who convinces her assistant to pose as her fiancé in order to avoid deportation to Canada. Reynolds and Bullocks' chemistry was off the charts in this film, with both having excellent comedic timing and an incredible ability to bounce off one other.
Rentable on the majority of platforms.
Adventureland is a comedy about summertime park workers in 1987, written and produced by Superbad's Greg Mottola and largely based on the theme park in upstate New York. Reynolds plays the Fun Zone's elderly maintenance worker in a supporting role here, but it's still a terrific way to use him in an ensemble.

In a rom-com reminiscent of CBS' How I Met Your Mother, Ryan Reynolds plays a father who tells his ten-year-old daughter (Abigail Breslin) about his previous sexual encounters, including how he ended up marrying her mother, to help explain his approaching divorce.
