Does ‘Solar Opposites’ Takes Place in the Same Universe as ‘Rick and Morty’?
Solar Opposite and Rick and Morty are the creations of the same creator, Justin Roiland. However, both shows are streaming on different streaming giants. Solar Opposite is streaming on Hulu and produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Rick and Morty is streaming on Adult Swim under the umbrella of Warner Bros. Entertainment. However, Disney owns Fox now, yet, the creator of both shows is the same. So, fans are wondering if Solar Opposite is in the same universe as Rick and Morty. Let’s find out.
Is Solar Opposites in the Rick and Morty Universe?
Apart from Justin Roiland, there are some similarities that suggest the possibility of Solar Opposites is happening in the same universe as Rick and Morty. As a creator of both shows, we can see the same animation styles accompanied by humor. For instance, in the pilot episode of Solar Opposites, “The Matter Transfer Array,” Korvo and Terry are watching the show named Funbucket Tadstockings. In the show, the furry character goes on an adventure via space and time. Their time travel hideaway is in the basement, along with a portal machine. They go on an adventure like Rick and Morty and terribly kill a man who looks like Justin wearing a Hulu t-shirt.

Another knot that ties these two shows is the episode called “The Quantum Ring” from Solar Opposites. It has the poster of Justine’s real-life game, Trover Saves the Universe. Rick and Morty featured the same poster in the season 4 premiere “Edge of Tomorty: Rick Die Rickpeat.” Interestingly, another thing is that both the shows have a history with The Simpsons.
Although the shows are different and have competitor producers, all these similarities point to the possibility of Solar Opposite’s presence in Rick and Morty’s universe. However, Disney and Warner Bros. are unlikely to agree to these crossovers. The fans could easily see it and know that these two have way more similarities than it seems. Do you also feel the same?
