Inspiration comes from within, but for some, it comes from the series they watch. And Cobra Kai is not a bad series to draw inspiration from. Many people overlook the wisdom in the series because of the comedy and drama. However, Cobra Kai has some powerful quotes, which will give you a new perspective on a lot of things.

Different perceptions of “No Mercy” in Cobra Kai

“No Mercy” is a part of the motto of Cobra Kai “Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy.” But the characters also use it as quotes. It started with John Kreese, and Johnny adopted it when he opened his dojo. Johnny taught ‘No Mercy’ to his students, but he soon realized the drawbacks.

But not everyone has the same perspective as Daniel. Tory, for instance, has to deal with a lot of things, so for her, ‘No Mercy’ is a way of life that helps her survive. The following quote explains the same:

“The world shows no mercy, so why should we? Some people have it good, but the rest of us we have to fight for every inch of what’s ours. Not just to score a point. For everything.”

Quotes from the senseis

Cobra Kai has three senseis Daniel, Johnny, and Kreese, and each of them has its own distinct ways. We start with the hot-headed Johnny Lawrence, who might be crude on the outside, but has the best intentions at heart.

  • “I may not always win, but I never back out of a fight.”
  • “In the real world, you can’t expect people to do what they’re supposed to do.”
  • “You’re not a kid anymore. The world isn’t just gonna hand it to you. You want something, you’re going to have to crawl across the floor, use your damn teeth if you have to, you’ll have to do whatever it takes.”

Daniel has Mr. Miyagi’s wisdom to share with his students. Although Mr. Miyagi quoted a lot of fortune cookie wisdom, somehow it worked.

  • “When negative feelings overwhelm you, look for the good within yourself.”
  • “If you have hate in your heart, then you have already lost.”
  • “You do the right thing cause it’s the right thing to do.”

Kreese has an evil reputation, but the man has served in Vietnam. In season 5, Kreese could change for better as he did not force Tory to play dirty in the tournament.

  • “Life isn’t always fair. Sometimes the world can be cruel. That’s why you have to learn to be cruel yourselves.”
  • “There is no good, there is no bad. Only weak and strong.”
  • “If your mind is agile, so are you.”

Quotes from the students

Miguel, Tory, Sam, Hawk, and Robby are young, but they know about their struggles. If you are their age, you can even relate to them.

  • “There’s no honor in being merciless.”Miguel Diaz
  • “You just gotta feel the energy and just live in the moment, you know?”Hawk
  • “I just don’t need to drink to pretend to be cool.”Robby Keene
  • “Everyone’s got a sob story, that doesn’t give you the right to be a bully.”Samantha LaRusso
  • “At least I know who I am. You are still trying to be something you’re not.”Tory Nichols
