Despite its epic proportion, mind-bending storytelling, iconic scenography, and unforgettable performances, Stranger Things season 4 is not the last season of Netflix’s flagship show. Left on a cliffhanger with many questions left unanswered, the fantastical series by the Duffer Brothers is setting up for season 5. Considering that it would take a couple of years for the final season to stream on the platform, fans are hard at work doing what they do best. Speculating theories and the fate of the characters. One of the most interesting theories, of course, is about Will Byers, portrayed by Noah Schnapp.

Is Will (Noah Schnapp) the sacrificial lamb of Season 5?

What a journey it has been for Will Byers (Noah Schnapp)! The poor guy has been through the wringer since the first episode of Stranger Things. In the latest season, however, many fans pointed out that Will merely floated and barely contributed to the show’s plot. While some are grateful that our boy finally caught a break, many believe there’s something big in store for Will the Wise.

Reddit users have come up with another premonition of Will. They believe that the beloved Dungeons and Dragons enthusiast portrayed by Noah Schnapp will end up sacrificing himself for the sake of his friends and his town. Fans recall the very first episode of Season 1 when Will “put himself in danger to help the party.” Supporters of the show believe this scene foreshadows the end and with that, Will’s fate.

Will Byers Gave Away the Most Powerful Villain for ‘Stranger Things’, and No, It’s Definitely NOT VECNA

The show that started with Will might end with him

If Stranger Things is a Stephen King homage, which many believe to be true, it has to end with one of the kids dying. The big question is, who? One of the most popular speculations is that of a Harry Potter-esque Ending to Stranger Things Finale. While the thread tying Will and Vecna still hasn’t revealed itself, we cannot deny the one between him and the Mind Flayer (neck sensation). Hence, the “Will might be a Horcrux” theory is still floating around.

And probably with good reason. If you see his journey, the first two seasons revolved around Will Byers. Not only was he our first introduction to the Upside Down, but his Truesight and the strange bond with the creatures of the netherworld also have, more often than not, been the savior. So it’s only fair that his character arc gets its well-deserved redemption.
