Well, we all know that in Chapter four of Stranger Things 4, Max confessed how much guilt and regret she has clubbed inside her after her brother Billy’s death. Now, if you remember her clothes, she was wearing a grid-patterned t-shirt and a blue sweatshirt. If you pay close attention to it, maybe the grid pattern of her t-shirt showcases the thoughts and fears she has boxed in her mind for so long.

Moving forward, in the later chapters of the same season, we have observed Maxine in dark baggy clothes. Amy Parris, the designer, explains to GQ that this signifies that she is still in the stage of mourning. The darker shades of her clothes, for instance, may also hint at a dark turn coming in her life. And the baggy fitting, per Parris, manifests the fact that she was hiding behind those clothes and hence, trying to protect herself in a way. Yes, it is truly mind-blowing. By the way, she was wearing a Hang Ten Corduroy jacket with a target shirt, just in case you are interested.
