Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are fans of this dystopian show
Almost 4 years ago at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Ryan Reynolds was promoting his Marvel flick Deadpool 2 for its Blu-ray and digital release. At this panel, The Adam Project star shared his current watches with the audience. He revealed he was on a “weird movie tour” wherein he sat and enjoyed each and every Quentin Tarantino film. Apart from that, he even expressed his love for Hulu’s beautifully written yet gut-wrenching show, The Handmaid’s Tale.

Both Ryan and Blake are huge fans of the show starring Elisabeth Moss. “Loving Handmaid’s Tale,” expressed Reynolds. At that time, season 2 of the Hulu series had just ended. “Wishing there were more, we just watched the last one,” shared Ryan. Clearly, the actor’s wish came true as the dark dystopian show just premiered its fifth season with the sixth one already green-lit.
The Handmaid’s Tale is set in the dystopian United States. This new world renamed Gilead has transformed into a totalitarian society owing to a religious autocracy that has almost completely consumed the US as we know it. Set against the backdrop of a crashing birthrate, the state forces the few fertile women that remain to procreate against their will. The show follows one such woman June/Offred (Elisabeth Moss) in this tragic tale.
