On the show, Will talked about his feelings and says that he always felt like a coward. When he talks about his music and talks about if he ever felt pressure for changing his path. He says that he hated it when people called him “soft” and it made him extremely angry.

Now that they are talking about Will’s beginning of his music career, David asks him about how his mother felt about his music and not going to college. However, before Will answers, David says, “By the way, your mother, just to be clear, ‘Mom-Mom’?” As David clarifies this, the King Richard star says, “Don’t say nothing about my mother, Dave.” David immediately replies, “No, I didn’t – I didn’t believe I did.”
For a minute there, it felt like there will be a serious situation. But both David and Will burst into laughter and they moved on. Turns out that Smith was just having fun.
