For over a year, fans have been eagerly waiting for the Chainsaw Man to release. The manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto is considered to be a breath of fresh air in the shonen genre. And the anime adaptation has been the most anticipated one. However, after years of waiting, the Chainsaw Man finally has a release date, and fans are wondering whether Netflix will stream it or not.

What is the anime about?

Denji’s father’s debt forces him to serve as a Demon Hunter for the Yakuza. Denji serves the gang to the best of his ability with his demon companion Pochita until they feel he has outlived his usefulness and murdered him. Pochita unites with Denji and becomes his heart in order to save his life, resurrecting the youngster as a half-human, half-demon monster armed with a Chainsaw.

Though Chainsaw Man is classified as shounen, it mostly fits towards the supernatural-horror genre and has a lot of gore. However, the manga is also popular for its trademark dark humor. And despite the death and brutality, Tatsuki Fujimoto is famous for making his readers chuckle frequently.

Will Netflix stream Chainsaw Man?

Netflix has such a great library of Original Anime like Bubble and Tekken: Bloodline that it was believed that Chainsaw Man was a Netflix anime too. So many thought it would be available on Netflix.

However, that was far from the truth. Chainsaw Man comes from the acclaimed studio MAPPA. Recently the studio had great success with shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Final Season. As a result, the new anime will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

The Crunchyroll Expo 2022 was recently held from Friday, August 5 through Sunday, August 7. There the streamer announced that they’d be streaming Chainsaw Man from October of 2022. An exact date is yet to be shared.
