Striking Similarities Between Attack on Titan and Upcoming Netflix Anime, Bubble – Find Out How They’re Connected

And if you have been a fan of the super successful and emotional AOT series. You must know Tetsuro Araki’s signature is the gravity-defying stunts. Well, that is exactly what the AOT veteran is bringing to Bubble anime on Netflix.

In a newly released behind-the-scenes video, the director talks about the similarities between his new film and AOT. Let us see what he had to say.

Bubble anime and AOT – similarities between the two

In a new video, director Tetsuro Araki reveals how Attack on Titan and Bubble share inspirations. Director Tetsuro Araki explains how the action scenes in the new film and the high-flying action of Attack on Titan were both inspired by the real-world activity of parkour. Also known as free-running, in a new behind-the-scenes video by Warner Bros. Japan for the upcoming animated film Bubble.

Araki claims that his team at Wit Studio utilized parkour films as a reference for working out how to adapt the swinging mechanics of Attack on Titan’s 3D Maneuvering Gears into animation. Similarly, the animators behind Bubble utilized video from real-life parkour professionals. Videos were used to create the gravity-defying action in the new film.

Araki says he worked with a professional, free runner named Zen on Bubble. The pair made sure the characters ran smoothly and convincingly.

While numerous characters in the film employ parkour, Zen claims in the video that an attempt was made to separate their movement styles. In order to fully depict the physicality of the action. The voice performers in the film were urged to walk around freely while recording their lines.

The movie is really looking to be a hotly awaited one among the fans. And why not? The movie has an amazing cast and an equally amazing people behind the camera.

Masterminds of the film

Tetsuro Araki, the director of Death Note, Attack on Titan, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, is in charge.  Takeshi Obata, the illustrator behind the original Death Note manga, also creates the character designs for the film. Gen Urobuchi, a renowned screenwriter who has created hit series such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Psycho-Pass, has written it.

Hiroyuki Sawano, whose booming, epic compositions have been included in franchises such as Attack on Titan and Promare, provides the music. But the talent of Bubble is not only in its creators. It has an exceedingly talented cast of voice actors.

Anime fans will recognize Yûki Kaji (Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins), Mamoru Miyano (Zombie Land Saga, Free!) and Tasuku Hatanaka (Ushio & Tora, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress), as well as Jun Shison (The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window, It’s a Flickering Life), who will play Hibiki.

In summary, Bubble is being made by an all-star cast of anime creators, and an amazing cast brings it to life.  It’s also being animated by WIT Studio. The studio behind such successes as Attack on Titan and The Great Pretender. So it’s no surprise that the film looks amazing.

The new film will have its Japanese debut on May 13 and will start streaming globally on April 28 as a Netflix exclusive.
