“Who fu*king Gives a fu*k?” the Time When Billie Eilish Slammed the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Courtroom Drama in Her Song
The world revolves around drama. This sad but true statement says a lot about us as a society; especially if the drama involves known celebrities. Take the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case. It was a private matter between a couple, but it had all the makings of a “mountain out of a molehill.” The extremely public nature of the trial consumed the entire news cycle. It was all the people spoke about. This overemphasizing of the matter did not go well with the pop icon Billie Eilish.
Despite her young age, Eilish has always been vocal about politics and social issues. The Ocean Eyes singer believes it is her responsibility to talk about what’s happening in the country, no matter how unpleasant. She even references the Depp-Heard trial in her latest song. Let us find out her latest track and her insights about the same.

Billie Eilish expresses her frustration with the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard case
Billie Eilish’s latest track TV allegedly makes a snide reference to the defamation trail of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Shortly before the release of the song, the court case came to an end with the verdict in favor of Depp. However, the matter had blown so out of proportion that it had completely taken over all the news and media channels. So much so that other paramount and life-altering issues were being subsumed into it.
This was the same time when the precedent set by Roe v. Wade on abortion was hanging by a thread awaiting the Supreme Court decision. However, instead of concentrating on a literal life and death issue, a celebrity divorce had all the ears and eyeballs. This occurrence frustrated the Lost Cause artist. While Billie Eilish didn’t mention the actors involved by name, the lyrics couldn’t have been any more explicit.
“The internet’s gone wild watching movie stars on trial / While they’re overturning Roe v. Wade.”
Eilish even opened up about her feeling regarding the same in a cover story with NME. She disclosed how depressing the supreme court verdict was for her and women everywhere. But amid all this, the internet was still fixated on Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Her utter disappointment in this ordeal is extremely apparent in her statement.
“Who fu*king gives a fu*k? Women are losing rights for their bodies, so why are we talking about celebrities’ divorce trials?” said the exasperated singer.
