For the first season, the cast and crew traveled around the world, the second one didn’t have the same resources. With covid restrictions forcing the series to minimize travel, the second season of The Witcher was entirely filmed in the United Kingdom. Arborfield Film Studios and MOD Deepcut Surrey for Kaer Morhen

This 100-plus-year-old former army barracks turned studios was home to most of the filming. Three main stages housed village sets and the exteriors of Kaer Morhen. It wasn’t easy for the production designers to make a set for Kaer Morhen. With fans of video games and books watching the series, they had to live up to certain expectations.
They filmed some parts of Kaer Morhen at MOD Deepcut Surrey, a British Army training base. Here, the crew made a set for the Killer Trail, a rocky path riddled with obstacles encircling Kaer Morhen, where Ciri trained.
The first and last location of The Witcher crew
Coldharbour Wood in Chichester saw the very first days of shoot. The production crew set up an elven village in the woods, and they built it in such a manner that it would be a secret. Bourne Wood in Farnham, which has already witnessed some iconic shoots like “Gladiator,” “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
Frensham Ponds, which includes Frensham Great Pond and Frensham Little Pond, were the last locations of The Witcher shoot. Frensham has also seen shoots of many films just like Bourne Wood. The list includes “The Mummy,” “The Hounds of Baskerville,” and “Carry on Jack.”
