It is believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family strained to post their separation in 2020. The House of Windsor was miffed, with the two stepping down as working royals and moving to California. Meanwhile, their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey and accusations of their mistreatment added fuel to the fire.

However, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, various incidents are coming to light that suggest that not everything was right within the royal family and Meghan Markle from the very beginning. A royal correspondent, Valentine Low, has narrated an anecdote from Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding which left the Queen furious and upset over her grandson’s actions. 

Prince Harry made his grandmother upset for Meghan 

In his book, Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, Valentine revealed that Queen’s dresser Angela Kelly once made Prince Harry furious. Just before the royal wedding, the matriarch announced that she will be lending one of her tiaras to Meghan for her big day. Her Majesty had made the same offer to Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, for her wedding.

Following the monarch’s order, Harry and Meghan made an appointment with Angela and selected Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara. However, the problem arose when the former actress wanted to do a dress rehearsal with stylist Serge Normant. During the rehearsal for the big day, Angela was not available and thus the Duchess of Sussex could not get access to the tiara. 

The entire fiasco left Prince Harry furious as he believed that Angela was unavailable on purpose, and the Sussex royal blamed the dresser for being obstructive. In an argument with Angela, Harry also stated as quoted by the Times, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!”

The rude behavior of the Prince did not go unnoticed by Her Majesty and she summoned Harry for a meeting. As per Valentine, the Duke of Sussex was “firmly put in his place” by his grandmother for his “downright rude” behavior. The incident definitely comes as a shock considering that Harry was the favorite grandson of the late monarch.
