Despite having an impressive portfolio of works, Millie Bobby Brown is best known as the telekinetic teen, Eleven from Stranger Things. Whether it is bullies or various monsters in the show, her character does not shy away from obliterating them. However, the British actress is quite opposite from her on-screen persona, and it is not due to a lack of superpowers.

Back in 2019, the Enola Holmes star was promoting her film Godzilla: King of the Monsters along with rapper and actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. She revealed how she hoped to live in a violence-free world someday.

Millie Bobby Brown explained her non-violent stand

In a 2019 interview with NME, Millie Bobby Brown and O’Shea Jackson Jr. discussed their diametrically opposite characters from Godzilla: King of the Monsters. While Jackson played a member of the G-Team, whose job was to shoot and end the monsters, Brown’s character empathized with the creatures and tried to understand them. Bringing that point forward, the host asked Brown if “words were more powerful than bullets.

The Stranger Things star strongly agreed and even gave an insight into her own belief system. She also emphasized her passion for “ending violence.

Change is way more important than violence,” stated the young actress. Explaining her point further, she said, “In this world, we need to reason. We need to actually use logic in our decisions that the world is making right now.

It was commendable on her part to put forth her noble ideas so articulately. Many films and TV shows have often explored the themes of monsters being misunderstood entities. It often turns out that they were not evil after all. The wise Phil Dunphy from Modern Family once said, “What are monsters but pure, beautiful creatures we project our fears onto.”

It seems like Brown took a page right out of Dunphy’s “Phil’s-Osophy” book. One cannot help but wonder how Vecna would react if Eleven adopted this approach instead of sending 001 to the Upside Down.
