‘The Ultimatum’: Lauren Pounds Lashes at Social Media Trolls While Defending Her Relationship With Nate Ruggles: “I do not need strangers to tell me what is best for me”
The messiest reality show on Netflix, The Ultimatum just ended on April 13. Couple Vanessa and Nick Lachey hosted the dating show, which is more like a partner swapping show. Six couples on the brink of breaking up are invited to test their bond for one last time over eight episodes. The reality show masquerading as a social experiment either brings the couple closer or breaks them apart forever. It was the former for Lauren Pounds and Nathan Ruggles on The Ultimatum.
Lauren claps back at the haters for questioning her decision to marry Nate in The Ultimatum
Lauren and Nate wanted different things in their relationship. While Nate was ready to start a family with Lauren, she was not. Cracks started appearing in their relationship when they decided to participate in the show. When Colby picked Lauren, Nathan was visibly upset. That one act prompted him to go down on his knees and propose to Lauren. She accepted his proposal but ended up upsetting the fans. Fans of the show questioned her choice of a partner. To others, it seemed like Nathan’s proposal was impulsive and ingenuine.

Pounds finally took to Instagram to give a piece of her mind to the haters. Vehemently defending her relationship, she mentioned she knows what’s best for her. Lauren pointed out the editing of The Ultimatum that didn’t paint her and Nathan in the right light.
Well, it’s plausible given how Netflix shamelessly edited her age from 30 to 26.

The show glossed over their therapy sessions
Pounds further revealed the reality show didn’t air the scenes where both of them resolved their issues. Going to therapy benefitted them greatly. But questions were raised regarding their silence in the reunion episode. And Pounds admitted to having their guards up. Even though Nathan was quiet, apparently Pounds interacted more than him.
The experience was so bizarre for the couple that they have sworn off reality shows. But you might see them as guests on Survivor or The Floor is Lava.
