Ryan Reynolds is one of finest actors of our generation. Over the years, we have witnessed the Canadian actor cement himself as a prominent individual in Hollywood. Furthermore, Reynolds has given the audience some of the best films of the past two decades. While the actor has starred in a plethora of projects, one of his most impactful and popular film has to be Deadpool. We are no strangers to the legacy Reynolds left behind as the Merc with a mouth. The film was a massive critical and commercial success for Reynolds and the studio as well. However, the story behind how the film released would leave you in awe.

The list of the greatest comic book films that made their way to our screens over the past two decades would be incomplete without Deadpool. The cult classic film took the world by storm when it premiered worldwide. However, in reality the film was in the shelves for years before it first made its way to our screens. Ryan Reynolds even confirmed the same during an appearance on The Graham Norton show. Reynolds revealed, “11 years I have been trying to get this movie made.” Apparently, they wrote a script and did a little bit of test footage for a movie. However, that test footage sat on a shelf at Fox for four years. “Somebody accidentally leaked it on the internet. People started flooding Fox and pleading them to get the movie made,”  concluded Reynolds.

And as surprising as it sounds, within the next 24 hours, Reynolds and his team got the green light. The Free Guy star lauded the fans who played a huge part in the making of the movie. However, in the end it worked in everyone’s favour. The film was a commercial blockbuster for the studio. On the other hand, the fans got one of the finest films.

While speculations are rife about Reynolds being the one to leak the footage back then, the actor certainly gave a near spoiler of Deadpool 3 along with Hugh Jackman.

As we all know, Deadpool 3 is all set to make its way to our screens in 2024. While the film’s release is a huge news in itself, Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine have made things more exciting. However, the duo almost leaked a huge plot from Deadpool 3.

Shortly after announcing Jackman’s return on YouTube and Twitter, Reynolds released another video where he discussed the film with Jackman. While the duo spoke about Wolverine’s return, Reynolds revealed, “Logan takes place in 2029, a totally separate thing, not touching that.” They seemed to have given away major plot points too, given how they were muted in the video.
