The Midnight Club of Netflix was a dream project for Mike Flanagan
Certainly, this is not the first time we are seeing a frightening story coming from Mike Flanagan since he has collaborated several times with Netflix on horror shows. His works include Gerald’s Game, Before I Wake, and Hush and also his ominous miniseries Midnight Mass.
Bringing such diabolical stories onscreen has been his forever dream. According to Vanity Fair, the American filmmaker was a fan of Pike’s works when he was just a college student. Mike admitted that this is not the first time he attempted to create The Midnight Club. Inspired by the mind-blowing works of Pike, he wrote a play.
He remembered the time when he gathered his family and friends to invest money in his screenplay. Unfortunately, the script was rejected by Pike’s publisher: “They sent me a cease and desist letter,” said Mike. Although true dreams never go in vain; today, it is finally happening.

After bringing numerous acclaimed haunting tales, Mike Flanagan is raising the bar high with this series. The anthology series will follow the secret meeting of terminally ill teenagers when the clock strikes twelve and they tell each other scary stories.
These kids’ experiment with supernatural entities turns into an unsettling scary experience when one of them dies. Since then, strange things start happening around them, and it seems as if their pact worked because they decided to communicate with each other after their death by becoming ghosts. The Midnight Club features Iman Benson, Adia, Ruth Codd, Igby Rigney, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, and Sauriyan Sapkota.
