Ryan Reynolds reveals his first experience as owner of Wrexham A.F.C.
In recent times, Ryan and Rob McElhenny have been in the headlines be it for their wholesome bromance or their purchase of Wrexham Association Football club. However, initially, the purchase of the football team took the owners on an emotional rollercoaster. Wrexham A.F.C has been playing in National League for the past few years in an attempt to finally be promoted back to Football League.
Ryan and McElhenny got their first live experience of Nation league football on a cold October night in Maidenhead. The duo’s first arrival was booed by the home fans. Furthermore, a series of you bought the wrong club chants followed. Ryan was not a fan of it as the Deadpool actor revealed, “I don’t know how people do this, it’s heartbreaking.”
Moreover, their first appearence as new owners of the team was full of action. Maidenhead scored two goals in two minutes while Bryce Hosannah won himself a red card, reducing Wrexham to a 10 men team. In the end, even though Wrexham did score two goals, Maidenhead took the victory with 3-2 score.
