“I spent more time…”- When Henry Cavill Was Left Surprised by His Mirror Look Because of His Dream Role as ‘The Witcher’
How incredibly sad it was for the fandom to digest the news of Henry Cavill leaving the iconic show, The Witcher. The actor is famous for his love for source materials. The Netflix show took inspiration from original novels and video games and the British actor gave life to the character Geralt of Rivia. He involved himself so much in the character that he won the hearts of the fandom.
However, there was a time when the 39-year-old actor would go to the sets of the show and get dressed as Witcher. He adapted the character so well that he himself could not recognize his own face in the mirror. Cavill opened up about it in his interview with BBC Radio 1 in 2020. When the interviewer, Ali Plumb, asked him if he got surprised by the look of the character, the star gave a surprising answer.

He said when he looked in the mirror as himself when he was not in Geralt’s costume, he would feel surprised. “I spent more time as Geralt those 8 months than Henry,” said the Enola Holmes star as he gave the reason for getting the surprising look. While talking about the character, Cavill also revealed after finishing the hair and makeup for the character, he would feel like, “Wow! I’m in a dream job.”
The English actor had to leave this dream job. He will not reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia after season 3 of the show. However, the showrunner, Lauran Hissrich, revealed they would give a heroic send-off to the lead actor of the show.
Henry Cavill handed the swords and medallion to another actor
Since The Tudors actor had to leave the show because of the supposed creative differences with the writers, Liam Hemsworth will take over the role. In his Instagram post, Cavill revealed he would pass down the swords and the medallion to a fellow actor. When the actor announced the exit, fans were devastated.

Nevertheless, the fandom will see their favorite actor in upcoming projects like Argylle, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. 2 as well. After attending the premiere of the latest Avatar movie, he also got the offer to join the franchise.

Moreover, we have seen him as Sherlock Holmes in the Enola Holmes franchise. Although there is no official renewal news, fans probably would see more of the famous detective as well.
