“I cut my wrist deep…”- Back When Arnold Schwarzenegger Powered Through a Serious Injury to Shoot for ‘Total Recall’

Movies involving fight scenes and stunts have a high risk of getting someone hurt. Especially if the actors are doing the stunts themselves, they literally play with the fire, sometimes. If you have watched the films starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, you would know, most of them have some intense and interesting fight scenes. However, there was a time when a tough man like him also got hurt while filming Total Recall.

Total Recall is one of Schwarzenegger’s most famous films. The sci-fi movie is widely loved by the fans of the actor. However, to make the film extremely interesting, the actor dedicated so much to it. Despite getting an injury while filming, the actor did not stop filming. In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment once, the 75-year-old actor opened up about his injury.

When they were shooting a chasing scene, the crew was supposed to explode the window. And they did not do so before Schwarzenegger hit it with a gun, “so, therefore, I cut my wrist deep,” said the actor. He cut his wrist so deep that he had to get stitches. Notably, they were shooting the scene at night. So, the actor had to get the treatment needed in the middle of the night. But the most interesting thing was he did not agree to stop the shooting.

Arnold Schwarzenegger continued shooting despite the injury

The Terminator star got a deep cut on his wrist and was advised to rest. However, he continued shooting the scene. They hid his bandages while filming, so that, no one could see them as he shot the scene again.

This dedication of the actor makes his fans fall in love with him even more. Although apart from Schwarzenegger, his co-star, Michael Ironside also faced injuries during the shoot. He got his ribs cracked while filming the elevator scene.

Well, if you have heard or read any Tom Cruise interviews, he, at least, once talks about the injuries he had during the shoot. Even The Witcher star, Henry Cavill also got an injury when he was shooting for the show.
