The much-anticipated spin-off of the Addams family, Wednesday, finally debuted on the platform on November 23. The eight-episode series is a coming-of-age supernatural horror comedy show starring Jenny Ortega in the lead as Wednesday Addams. The series is already getting rave reviews for the plot and the characters. However, it’s especially the wardrobe of Wednesday that has become a hot topic of discussion amongst the viewers. And Jenny recently revealed Billie Eilish as the influence behind Wednesday’s fashion.

Billie Eilish was on the mood board when figuring out Wednesday’s look

The team behind the Netflix show wanted to stay true to the character. Wednesday is intelligent, has a sharp tongue, likes all things macabre, and always looks half-dead. The team wanted a gothic look for her that would suit her personality which is somewhat cold and spooky.

Not to mention, Wednesday hates colors. And Billie Eilish was the perfect choice to serve as inspiration behind her look. During an interview with USA Today, Jenny revealed that the Ocean Eyes singer was on the mood board. And we can clearly see why.  The singer-songwriter is known for her edgy sense of style. From her baggy clothes to her iconic hairstyles, she is the epitome of edgy.

And she has one thing in common with Wednesday Addams – both love the color black. The design team was able to figure out Jenny’s look thanks to Eilish. She was mostly seen wearing an all-black ensemble with splashes of white here and there. Jenny’s Victorian gothic-themed dress to the dance was the highlight of the series.

While Jenny’s portrayal of Wednesday is getting much love, Eilish has sent the internet into a meltdown with her recent post. The Happier Than Ever crooner posted a photo in which she is wearing a provocative shirt.
