Did Ryan Reynolds have a vision of Deadpool way before it was made? The actor, who was known for his comedy movies, changed his persona for the world with Deadpool. Little did he know the MCU movie would go on to become such a big hit that it would lead to sequels, with a third party in the queue.

The actor began his career with the Nickelodeon series Fifteen back in 1991. Thereafter, he continued to work in light-hearted flicks like Free Guy, Ted, and The Hitman’s Bodyguard. But the 2011 movie The Change-Up had an interesting fact that connected to Ryan’s superhero film.

How Ryan Reynolds’ old movie was connected to Deadpool

In the romantic comedy, Ryan Reynolds, who went on to bag the role of the Merc with a Mouth later in 2016, plays Mitch. In fact, the character is actively shown to have a Samurai sword throughout the movie. This is shown to be the choice of weapon when Ryan plays Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Quite the coincidence?

Change Up saw both The Green Lantern star and Ozark actor Bateman in the lead. The story of their movie comedy flick revolved around two friends Mitch (Ryan Reynolds) and Dave (Jason Bateman), whose lives change when their bodies get swapped. One is a married lawyer while the other is a Playboy. The film takes you on an adventure with the character as they come to a realization that the other one’s life is not as merry as they thought. The movie also saw Olivia Wilde, Leslie Mann, and Sydney Rouviere in the lead.
