Portraying the Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher made Henry Cavill a household name worldwide. The Witcher is a story about a mutated monster hunter who sets out on a journey to create a place for himself in a world filled with people who are far worse than witches and beasts. Fantasy science fiction was a completely new genre for Cavill as he was coming after, featuring in the films like Mission: Impossible – Fallout and the Man of Steel.

However, the British actor aced the role to perfection on the screen. With two seasons gone by, The Witcher is considered one of the most successful and renowned shows on the American streaming giant. While Geralt made all the viewers fall in love with him, one flaw in his character raised quite a few eyebrows. Unlike the other ordinary protagonists, Henry Cavill has far lesser dialogue in the show. Lauren speaks about fewer dialogues for Henry Cavill

The Witcher is an adaption of novels of the same name by a Polish writer called Andrzej Sapkowski. In his books, Sapkowski has made Geralt a silent character who relies on his strong observation skills. The protagonist processes everything internally rather than voicing it out loud. Thus, to maintain relevance with the books, The Witcher writer had to cut down the dialogues for the main lead.

Lauren revealed that to make the Netflix series perfect, she had initially written many dialogues for Geralt. However, Henry Cavill was compelling while playing the mutated monster. He managed to convey everything with his eyes and facial expressions. The scintillating acting by the British star made the showrunner abandon all the extra words.
