“Exploration of my childhood trauma”- Will Smith On How He Channelized His Childhood Traumas into Becoming A Better Parent For His Children

Hollywood A-lister Will Smith AKA King Richard released his memoir named Will last year in November. The actor-rapper did the captivation aspect of his book extremely well with the help of multi-million bestseller Mark Manson. Apart from being flawless on-screen, this book brought out the excellent imaginative storyteller that Smith is. He goes into each of his characters in different phases of his life and connects the dots between success, happiness, and human connection.

Everyone has his share of problems. Will Smith too, has been through some of the major ups and downs of life. The star has reflected on all of them through his book, Will which is now a major bestseller. However, having gone through all of it, the father of three recently spoke about how it helped him become a better parent to his children.

Will Smith on how his memoir helped shape a better relationship with his children 

In a virtual interview with The True Project Will Smith shed light on how his childhood has helped shape his kids’. While opening up about his family rift in a candid, Smith talked about what has he learned from his own younger days. Here is what he said.

The host reportedly asked the King Richard star about his mention of the same in the memoir. Answering this, Smith said, “the exploration of my childhood trauma has opened me up.” He has utilized all of his mental anguish and triumph into making a better relationship with his children than what he had with his father. 

Will has his three kids at goodwill today. Jaden, who is now 24, daughter Willow, 21, and Trey, 30, lead a good life now. Following the recent Oscar fiasco, Jaden took to Twitter and made a controversial post confirming his support for his dad. On the other hand, Willow showed support by stating her love for her father, when asked for a comment.
