Ryan Reynolds has made quite a name for himself in the world’s oldest film industry. It has been years nay, decades since this superstar left his homeland of Canada and got settled in America. However, he still has a strong connection to his homeland and can frequently be seen enjoying a hockey game there.

And given that Reynolds is someone who is very well connected to his roots, it was weird and surprising for people when he bought a football team from a totally different country. We are talking about the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C., which he and Rob McElhenney bought over two years ago.

If not for it, he would have never invested in a club that was struggling at the time he bought it. Investment is yet another thing Deadpool loves. Apart from owning the Welsh football club, he is the owner of Aviation Gin, Mint Mobiles, and Maximum Effort.

So when he and McElhenney saw the opportunity to buy a team, they just swooped right in. They seem to have a genuine passion for Wrexham, the team, and the community, so it makes sense that they would want to capture their experience. As per UnHerd, the two also brought their own expertise to promote the club when they finally purchased it. And they did this by creating a documentary for the club called Welcome to Wrexham.

The duo did not just put money into the team; they also poured their hearts and time into it. They have also been working on the expansion of the stadium at Wrexham. So, it will be safe to say that the Canadian-American actor understands football and loves it equally. Meanwhile, Reynolds is soon expecting a fourth child with his wife, Blake Lively. The couple already has three daughters: James, Inez, and Betty. The couple has not revealed the gender of the baby yet.
