Ryan Reynolds Gives a Shout Out to the Canadian Football Team After Their Opening Game Against Belgium in 2022 Fifa World Cup

The Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds is an avid fan of football. So much so that he even bought his own football team with partner Rob McElhenney in 2020. Both are acting co-chairman of the Wales football team, Wrexham AFC. Despite living in the United States of America, the man has time again expressed his love for Wales and its football team. He famously expressed that he would like for Wales to spank the United States. However, the man still remains loyal to his roots. 

Recently, he took to Twitter to give a shout-out to the Canadian football team for their match on Tuesday against Belgium.

Ryan Reynolds compliments the Canadian team for their beautiful work on the field

Canada had its first opening match against Belgium on Tuesday. The team appeared in the World Cup after nearly 36 years and Ryan Reynolds definitely did not miss the event. The team started out strong, but eventually lost the game to Belgium, 0-1. They missed a penalty shot and were then not allowed to take two more shots.

Despite their defeat at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, in Qatar, the Spirited star was quick to send his warm regards to the team. On Twitter, he expressed how proud he was of his home team. Canada will play against Croatia once again on Sunday.

While his home team prepares to battle it out on the field again on Sunday, the Welsh football club could not spank America as Ryan had hoped. Reynolds and Rob had sent their best wishes to the club ahead of their match against America. While the Definitely Maybe star was clear about which side he was cheering for, Rob was a little torn. So instead he wished for a draw. The match indeed ended in a draw 1-1 thanks to the last-minute save by Gareth Bale.
