Who will replace Henry Cavill as Superman in the future? The actor was first cast in the role back in 2013 by Zack Snyder for Man of Steel. The movie became an instant hit, thereby cementing Cavill’s role as Superman for future projects as well. Now, with DC having new heads, they are making different plans for the next decade.

That means everyone from Cavill to Ben Affleck has been scraped out of the DC universe. Although it is likely that Superman will be made again, just with a different cast. Now, a fan has imagined a Black actor as a replacement to play Clark Kent.

While many fans were disheartened to know that Henry Cavill will not be back as Superman, guesses for his replacement have already begun. As per Epicstream, an artist named Subi Özil took to social media to share art that he made. He captioned the art photo, “If down the line they ever introduce Val Zod, John Boyega would be an awesome cast in my opinion.”

Instead of Cavill, John Boyega was imagined as Val-Zod. He is the second Superman belonging to Earth 2. As apparent, this Superman is supposed to be a Black one. Boyega played Finn in the Star Wars trilogy and made it to the list of the top 100 African influencers in 2020 by New African magazine.

On the other hand, Calvin Ellis, who is supposed to be the Superman on Earth 23 could also make a comeback for a live-action movie. The DC universe is quite large and unexplored. For decades we have seen the likes of Blackman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in highlight. But with Black Adam, James Gunn intended to begin exploring other characters and introducing them on the big screen.

There is already speculation of a Black Superman being considered, although no confirmation is made yet. Fans were left shaken when there was much anticipation of Man of Steel 2 with Cavill, but it later got canned. James Gunn has kept silent as he begins changing the face of DC to compete with Marvel in the long run. Meanwhile, their movie Shazam will release on 17 March of this year.
