Who’s leaving the cast in Stranger Things season 4?
Some characters are unfortunately leaving the cast of Stranger Things season 4 as the story requires it. Let’s check who those are.
Stranger Things season 4 is in the works and it’s going to wrap up filming soon. We’ve been waiting for the new season for a pretty long time and it’s relaxing that we’re finally coming to an end. As we get closer to the release with each day, fans are wondering about the changes in the next season.
Changes in the cast members are among those as well. We know some famous new actors, such as Anne with an E star Amybeth McNulty, who are going to join the crew. Netflix announced four new characters and hyped up the fans a little bit more like 2-3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, some others are going to be leaving the show for the new season. Without further ado, let’s check out who’s leaving the cast for Stranger Things season 4.

The most prominent character that we won’t see in the new season is Billy, who’s portrayed by Dacre Montgomery. He died at the end of season 3 to keep Eleven alive.
Alec Utgoff’s pure character Alexei won’t be in Stranger Things season 4, either. He was killed by the Russian assassins during the fun fair, so there’s no more Alexei for us.
The other characters who’ll be leaving for the next season are Bruce, Heather, Tom, and Grigori.
If you also want to check out the actors who are going to be in the season, here’s the full confirmed list with the new actors. There are both main actors who’ve been in the cast for a long time and some newcomers.

Well, even though it felt like it was going to take forever, we’re approaching the end of the production. According to David Harbour, they’re planning to finish filming this August. It’s also apparent from a recent Instagram post by Cara Buono. All in all, it’s just a matter of time before they wrap it up.

Netflix usually takes around six months to finish the post-production process. This will probably be longer with Stranger Things, as it’s pretty big and needs heavy VFX. As the crew is probably going to end filming this August, we can add around 6-8 months to that. In the end, it gives us an expected release date of early-mid 2022 for Stranger Things season 4. That lines up with the earlier remark of Finn Wolfhard, who expects a 2022 release date.
