Jada Pinkett Smith has always enjoyed the limelight. She created her own identity before her marriage to Will Smith and acted alongside some big stars like Tom Cruise. She gave some smashing box office hits during the golden era of action movies, one of which was a 2004 action movie that won an Oscar nomination. The critically acclaimed film had a budget of $65 million and earned over $220 million at the box office.
The Michael Mann creation was a two-hour action thriller, with a screenplay by Stuart Beattie, who got this movie’s concept while going home in a taxicab from Sydney airport. The idea was brought to life by casting not only Jada Smith but also other A-list actors like Django Unchained’s Jamie Foxx and Mission Impossible lead Tom Cruise, who is known for performing his own stunts. Considering the success of the movie, Netflix has now added this star-studded thriller back to its list of thrillers.
Netflix brings back a 2004 Jada Pinkett Smith movie on its platform
The Jada Smith thriller that Netflix has brought to its platform is called Collateral. The 2004 action thriller is now available to stream on both Netflix UK and USA. It is considered one of the best in the list of Tom Cruise’s action thrillers. The American neo-noir film’s plot revolves around a Los Angeles cab driver named Max Durocher (Foxx), and his customer Vincent (Cruise).

Max has had his day dropping customers like Annie, and just as he is about to go off, he notices a sharply dressed man. Vincent, the customer, gets in the cab offering Max $600 to make five stops. Max doesn’t think much of it until he notices the not-so-regular profession of his passenger. Vincent turns out to be an on-hire hitman and is on a serial killing spree. Caught amid his rampage is the cabbie who must find a way to stop this madness to stay alive.
Interestingly, the movie Collateral got its name from the storyline, which shows that no character is safe from the collateral damage of Vincent, the hitman. The movie is violent, so the viewer’s discretion is advised. But if you are into raging thrillers, you can stream the movie on Netflix now.
