If you remember, George Lucas, the Star Wars director, had this perplexing habit of editing his movies long after they were released. That’s exactly what our co-directors are up to. In the interview, they admitted how they have George Lucas’d a few episodes without revealing it to the fans. “We have ‘George Lucas-ed’ things also that people don’t know about,” Matt Duffer said.
However, the directors won’t reveal the exact episodes that are edited. Ross Duffer suggested that instead, one can use physical DVDs and Blu-ray copies to cite the difference, as all the Netflix episodes are now updated with the latest revisions.
If you are curious enough to know, we might have information about one such edit. All you have to do is keep reading.
There can be alterations in Will’s birth date
Fans were rather disappointed after the release of the first volume of season four of Stranger Things. The second episode of this volume brought Mike to California. The day was March 22. Yes! Will’s Birthday!! Sadly, there was no mention of the same. The Brothers have plans to alter the same to account for this unintended plothole.
Matt Duffer shared that they will do a subtle change in Will’s birth date. He told Variety that the team said “May” in the season 2 episode in which Joyce, his mother, unveils March 22 as Will’s birthday. He said May 22 will be his new birthday “because ‘May’ can fit in Winona’s mouth”. In concluding his talk, he said that the faux pas pointed out by the fans did not make sense to the characters, “It’s too sad” according to Brother.

Ross Duffer said that they had already made some adjustments to the visual effects in the May premieres of season four.
“Netflix is — I don’t think they’ve ever allowed people to patch on opening week and even weekend. And we said, ‘Well, why not?’ And he said, ‘Well, it makes us nervous.’ And we’re like, ‘Well, maybe we try it this time.’ And it turned out fine,” Duffer said.
Sure, it delights the Brothers to turn ‘George Lucas’ into a verb.
