When viewing Netflix’s gripping adventure series Locke and Key, one name stands out above the rest in the credits: Joe Hill. Hill not only created and executive produced the program, but he also wrote the comic series on which it is based. If he appears to be a natural horror storyteller, it may be because his father is Stephen King.

There’s a reason you didn’t realize Joe was Stephen King’s son. Joe desired to make it in writing only on his own merit. He didn’t want to write in the shadow of his father, and he didn’t want to earn book deals for the wrong reasons.
