When fans thought there was no more The Sandman content left, Netflix surprised them with a bonus episode. The two-part episode is a combination of animated and live-action adaptations of Gaiman’s two chapters from the comic. The story of Cats and Calliope indeed took the fans to another world. Will we have another bonus episode from The Sandman?

In the description of the show, Netflix tells us that “There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep.” But Neil Gaiman took us to that wonderful world with our eyes wide open. To add to the excitement, we got an extremely amazing bonus episode where we met another major character, Calliope. We got to know that she’s Morpheus’ ex-wife who had a child with him. And fans want to dive deep into the Dreaming with more bonus episodes. And here’s what Gaiman has to say about another episode.

When a fan asked about the 12th episode of The Sandman, Neil politely denied the possibility of it. The fans might be upset after officially hearing this from the creator of the masterpiece himself. Most fans were expecting some news second season of the show. Instead, when they received the surprise of a bonus episode, they became hopeful about another one. While we wait for them to rethink their decision, we still have some questions about the unfinished story. 

While Madoc abused the muse and took advantage of her powers forcefully, Calliope chose to free him from the miseries. Towards the end of the episode, we got the potential meeting of Morpheus and Calliope in the future. We don’t know what Dream would do till then. Calliope said she would inspire writers to create literature in such a way that nobody else would have to go through what she’d faced.

Moreover, the cats are inspired to dream. “Dream it. If enough of us dream, a bare thousand, we can dream a world where no cat sufferers, where no kittens die, cold and alone.” Would they be able to change the equation upside down? Will they be the kings and queens of the creation again?
