Will Kanye West Still Hold the Billionaire Tag After Adidas Ends Partnership Over Online Controversies?
Despite being entangled in countless controversies, Kanye West has always maintained his status as a musical genius and an enterprising entrepreneur. It is probably why Ye and Jay-Z are the only two rappers who could call themselves billionaires. In fact, going by their net worth, the Donda rapper came out leaps and bounds ahead of the Jigga Man.

Having said that, it seems West’s billionaire status is not as stable as it used to be. Recently, the German athletic company, Adidas, severed ties with the infamous artist. Several rumors suggest that falling out of this deal has also stripped Kanye West of his billionaire tag.

With Adidas out of the picture, is Kanye West still a billionaire?
About a month ago, the news of Adidas putting West’s Yeezy deal under review surfaced online. While the German brand never explicitly cited the controversy, the timing of the review pointed to the notorious White Lives Matter scandal. However, Adidas finally dropped the Yeezy founder following his string of antisemitic comments on social media.
In the aftermath of this event, on October 25, Forbes reported that Kanye West does not belong in the billionaire club anymore. Allegedly, the valuation of his long-term collaboration with Adidas was a whopping $1.5 billion. If the Forbes report is accurate, the rapper is not worth more than $400 million today. This is not the first time the financial magazine has dropped West’s billionaire tag. Back in 2020, he contested Forbes’s report by directly writing to them.
“It’s not a billion. It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count,” stated the Power singer.

So, it is only a matter of time before the king of controversy dismissed Forbes’ valuation of his worth. According to the publication, following the German company’s withdrawal, West’s financial assets include: “real estate, cash, his music catalog, and a 5% stake in ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s shapewear firm, Skims.”
Apart from Adidas, the rapper’s antisemitic remarks rubbed many of his collaborators the wrong way. Gap, Balenciaga, the Creative Artists Agency, and the production company, MRC, have all ended their professional relationships with the Heartless singer.
