Netflix released the trailer of their coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy show Wednesday a week ago. The series is based on Wednesday Addams, the daughter from the immensely popular cartoon The Addams family by famous cartoonist Charles Addams. Already so many films and TV shows have been made on this concept. But one of the most popular adaptations was the film with the same name as the comic released in the year 1991. However, as you know, Netflix loves recreating classics. And we have to give to the streamer that it has aced it. And so, Netflix is bringing Wednesday.

The trailer has been trending globally since its release. In the same link, one of the cast members of The Addams Family was interviewed recently. The actress who was interviewed was Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the film. She was a kid back then, and now, she’s become the mother of a child. Why couldn’t Christina Ricci, aka Wednesday Addams, watch Wednesday’s teaser?

When the interviewer mentioned that the show’s teaser was awesome, Christina interrupted her. She said that she hadn’t watched the teaser yet. And the reason behind that is Ricci has become a mom recently, and her baby kept her up the whole night before that. She only slept for two hours and woke up only a while ago. She had to watch it while holding her phone on silent mode. As she mentioned this, she added, “I was like Oh My God I have to post it.” 

The host later asked her what’s it like for her to return to a world where she’s played the same character before in a different role that was most creatively fulfilling for her. In response to that, she said, “I have always seen myself as kind of a natural contrarian where everybody’s thrilled to do the wrong thing, it’s just great for me.” 

She was really happy because the maker of the show Tim Burton asked her to be a part before making the show, and she felt honored. Ricci was really touched as the film was a huge part of her identity. She also mentioned that the character she played was outrageous and fun. Remarking, Jenna Ortega Ricci said, “she’s amazing and really incredible.”

Jenna Ortega is playing the character of Wednesday Addams in the movie Wednesday. The release date of the show hasn’t been officialized yet. Fans are speculating that it may release anytime soon. Stay tuned for new updates.
