Animation has always been one of the most loved entertainment genres, especially when it is an adaptation of a book series or a game franchise. People love seeing the combos from the source laid in an actual cinematic format. One such anime title was Tekken: Bloodline. It is the newest multimedia project from one of this era’s biggest fighting game franchises. The Tekken franchise predominantly revolves around the vicious conflict among the several generations of the Mishima family. This gitty and emotional origin story follow Jin Kazama as the protagonist.

The story covered him from a child to adulthood, enduring the apparent death of her mother due to a demon. The boy then ventures to find his grandfather Heihachi Mishima to avenge his mother’s death. The Anime series is not an immediate fly-in to the characters fighting. Instead, it teases its audience towards the iron fist tournament. It is a slow burner, but it was worth the audience’s patience. Although the fanbase has been too critical of the show’s ending, here’s how it made sense.

Tekken: Bloodline season 1 ending explained

In season 1 ending, Jin discovers from his grandfather about his devil gene. It is a supernatural power known to manifest in the members of the Hachiko clan. The ‘Bloodline‘ part of the show’s title refers to the duality of Jin’s nature. He bears both the traits of the Kazama and the Mishima family and uses each when required. In the last showdown, Jim is initially thrown to dust as Ogre acquires a monstrous figure. However, Jin prevails with his friends a little longer until his devilish genes activate. He defeats Ogre and kills him when Heihachi again appears and shoots him.

Although the show did not offer much explanation in this regard, we know from the games that Heihachi only agreed to help Jim for a reason. He only wanted to capture and harness Ogre’s immense power claiming that he was the only person who could save the world from the devil gene. However, Jin does not die. Instead, it only triggers his complete transformation into Devil Jin. In the form, he once more defeats his grandfather but does not kill him, remembering his mother’s words.

As the season ends, Jin flies away in his devil form. Surprise, the Tekken lore doe not end there. Does it hint at Tekken 4’s anticipated plot where Kazuya returns for vengeance against his father, The fate of the tournament? In terms of the actual event, it is known within the Tekken fan community that the King of the Iron Fist tournament always returns as long as Heihachi is still around to fund it.

The following season or tournament could highlight new fighter stories and dive further into the family feud between Heihachi, Jin, and Kazuya. The possibilities are endless in the world of Tekken. But Netflix is yet to renew the show for a new season. We will have to wait and see what decision the streamer takes.
