The white-picket-fence town of Serenity might look like it is very peaceful. But, as all viewers of the series know, it isn’t. Sweet Magnolias is full of some very intriguing (and dramatic) elements like the reason behind Dana Sue and Ronnie’s break up and who Kyle is texting. Who is Kyle texting in Sweet Magnolias?

Dealing with teenagers is difficult. Maddie from Sweet Magnolias knows this all too well as she struggles to manage her relationship with her son Kyle. While Maddie was dealing with separation from her husband, Bill Townsend, her child had been acting more distant than usual, something that put Maddie off to no end.

Hence, later, when she found out that Kyle had been texting Noreen, she was very disappointed. Not only did her son choose to confide in someone else, something all parents struggle with coming to terms with, but it was also his father’s ex-husband that her son had felt comfortable talking to.

Maggi and Noreen never got off on the right foot. The former’s marriage was falling apart, and the reason was the latter. This explains and justifies why it was extremely difficult for the protagonist of this Netflix Original to come to terms with the fact that Kyle had been talking to Noreen. The teenager had reached out to Noreen and had been talking to her, something Maddie was unaware of for quite some time.

What went down after the revelation?

Right from the beginning of Sweet Magnolias, viewers of the show knew that Noreen owed an apology to Maddie. While she had been supportive of Kyle and his passion for theatre, her being involved with Bill, despite knowing about Maddie, was certainly not the most righteous thing to do.

Finally, it is during episode 6 season 2 of Sweet Magnolias that Noreen apologizes to Maddie. Maddie, on the other hand, wanted to let go of the exhaustion that came with hating Noreen. With Noreen’s apology being genuine, Maddie accepts it and the two decide to move on from the events of the past.
