Julia Garner is not the only star in the house

Mark Foster is the name of Julia’s prince charming. Mark grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Ohio. Ohio was one of the common things in the conversations between Julia and Mark, as Julia’s grandmother lived just outside of Cleveland. After knowing this about each other, Mark and Julia started meeting there every Christmas. It became a tradition.

Foster got his break from producing jingles for commercials, which include Muscle Milk’s “Spring Break It Down”. While he was working there, Mark used to write songs for his band. He said, “Mophonics is kind of a creative home for me.” The aspiring artist used to work late to learn more about music production. Stephan Altman, the head composer, trained and mentored him. Mark even wrote and produced his band’s famously hit tune, “Pumped Up Kicks”, in the Mophonics‘ writer room in eight hours only.

Starting from very little, Mark climbed up the ladder and got his band multiple Grammy nominations. His band got recognition for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Alternative Music Album at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in February 2012. He even collaborated with Taylor Swift.

When Mark and Julia met in 2013, they didn’t exchange numbers or any contact details. They didn’t start dating yet. Before Julia started working in Ozark, the couple reconnected through Instagram. Mark had liked all her photos, and it made Inventing Anna star wonder if he was a stalker or something! When she checked his profile, she found him cute and so she followed him back. The rest was history.

When Julia started shooting for Ozark, season 3, the couple had been together for 10 months only. Mark didn’t want to wait long, and he asked Julia to marry him, but not in that plain tone. Mark, being a writer and an artistic soul himself, wrote a poem for the love of his life and proposed to her. The couple got married in December 2019, in a quiet ceremony at New York’s City Hall, where Julia’s parents had gotten married 40 years earlier. The next day, at the reception, Mark surprised his wife with an original song “Lovers in a Stream” for their first dance.
