When Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg Were Offered $1M to Fight Each Other
Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg were once asked to throw punches at each other. Both the stars have had an amazing rise to fame in the industry due to their comedic roles. Smith, in1990, with his series Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and four years later, Mark with the movie Renaissance Man (1994). Although they were widely loved for their humorous side, their ultimate rise was a result of action-packed films. To transform from funny roles to heroic ones required them to hit the gym and buff up.
The formula worked and Will and Mark started fighting villains in movies like Men in Black and Max Payne, respectively. Today, both are multi-millionaires and A-listers in the competitive Hollywood industry. Looking at their popularity, if it had come true, it would have been the biggest celebrity fight since Ricky Gervais took on Grant Bovey. This is why the Hollywood Boxing Federation came up with a proposal for the two.

The idea of seeing Will and Mark Wahlberg throw punches at each other in a huge Las Vegas ring sounds exciting. That is the exact thing Damon Feldman, CEO of Hollywood Boxing Federation, had in mind. According to a source, the money offered was $1 million, which may seem astronomical to the common man. But the amount is just a fraction of the wealth that these actors have amassed by getting paid in multiples. Knowing the case, Damon was counting on the actors’ generosity by letting them forward the money to the charities of their choice.
The I Am Legend actor is 6.2 ft tall while the Ted lead is 5.9 ft, with Will being a couple of years elder than Mark. Smith bulked up and skillfully portrayed the role of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali in the movie Ali. On the other hand, Wahlberg trained to tell the story of boxer ‘Irish’ Micky Ward in the movie The Fighter.
