What is White Noise on Netflix about?
Noah Baumbach’s White Noise is an adaption of National Book Award holder Don DeLillo’s 1985 postmodern novel of the same name. It’s a unique tale revolving around a suburban college professor, Jack Gladney, specializing in “Hitler studies,” who lives with his wife Babette and seven children (kids and step kids).

Their mundane life takes a 180-degree turn when a train accident causes a major chemical leak in their town, termed “The Airborne Toxic Event.” If the hysterical official logline is anything to go by, the satirical black comedy will keep you hooked and on the edge with its unique and unforgettable narrative.
The film promises to take you through an emotional roller coaster. What might appear as dealing with a doomsday mishap actually explores basic and often overlooked concepts like death, love, and a pursuit of happiness. Through absurd comedy, White Noise attempts to bring to light feelings beyond the surface level through the struggles of a contemporary American family.
Baumbach’s film stars who’s who of the film industry
White Noise, the Netflix Original, has recruited a plethora of the film world royalty. The film brings back the magical partnership of Baumbach and Adam Driver from the glory days of Marriage Story. The Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens star will play the role of the father and husband Jack Gladney. Joining him as his on-screen wife, Babette, is Noah’s real-life and creative partner Greta Gerwig.
