Earlier, we said the Korean remake is not really fresh news, and we stand by it. Because Netflix had announced its plans in November 2020. A question that might pop up is: what changed between then and now?

The biggest change is the timing. In 2020, fans knew they had one more season of their favorite series, which kept them engrossed. But, now with Money Heist finally ending, fans are desperate for scraps.

The crew behind the camera

Alex Pina, creator of Money Heist, will contribute to the series as an executive producer. Set on the Korean Peninsula, the Korean remake will follow the same plot as Money Heist. Kim Hong-sun will work as a director whose previous projects include “The Guest”, and “Voice”. Ryu Yong-jae, who has previously worked on “My Holo Love” will work as a screenwriter.

Who will be in the cast?

Yoo Ji-tae, who played Choi Kang-woo in “Mad Dog”, will portray the charismatic Professor in the Korean remake. But, currently hot property, Squid Game’s Park Hae-soo, has stolen his spotlight by bagging the role of Berlin. Jun Jong-Seo from “Burning” fame has bagged the role of Tokyo.
