“Very scripted and quite unspontaneous” – Royal Correspondents Slam Meghan Markle’s Spotify Podcast Archetypes
Meghan Markle has breached a new forte with her Spotify podcast Archetypes. The show, which has hosted a number of influential personalities, started with a bang. As the first episode featuring Serena Williams went online in August, Archetypes achieved the first ranking in the US. The show continued its domination in the second week as well. However, with ten episodes gone by, the podcast has failed to continue the glorious ride.
It has now slipped to 27th place in the United States while also receiving a lot of criticism from the people in the United Kingdom. It was very recently that Meghan Markle was accused of not interviewing the experts, authors, and writers in her podcast. Archetypes was again put under fire as a handful of royal correspondents labeled the podcast as scripted and unspontaneous.

Royal experts claim Meghan Markle follows a script in her podcast
The TV host Ian Collins was extremely critical of the latest episode of the podcast titled The Audacity of the Activist with Jameela Jamil & Shohreh Aghdashloo. Collins seemed upset with Meghan Markle trying the British accent with her guest, Jamil. As the British actress entered the podcast, the Duchess greeted her by saying Ello. Further, the royal commentator believes that the tenth episode was all about complaining, while it also had some sort of underpinning.

Meanwhile, the royal correspondent Daisy McAndrew labeled Meghan Markle’s podcast as scripted and unnatural. McAndrew is of the opinion that the conversations look forced as the Duchess refrains from speaking her heart out. She advised Markle to go off-script often in the show. The former American actress looks very authentic and genuine when she does not follow the pre-written script for the episode.
“I wish she would rip up the script. There are occasions where she goes off script, and she sounds much more genuine and authentic, which, of course, is the whole point about a podcast,” the royal commentator said as quoted by The News.
