Before the theaters around the world pulled the shutters down during the pandemic, Bad Boys for Life was one of the few blockbusters that graced the box office during that phase. The movie generated around $426 million at the box office. With the enormous figures, it was only likely for Sony to announce a sequel. However, the pandemic messed with production. Will Smith and his Oscar fiasco added to the woes of the makers. The question of whether the film was happening or not was in fans’ minds until both the leads, Smith and Martin Lawrence, announced that they are coming back with another sequel. Now we have another update regarding its cast. 

Deadline broke the news that Vanessa Hudgens will also join the two in Bad Boys 4. She played Kelly, the weapons expert at the Advanced Miami Metro Operations in the previous movie. Hudgens played a significant role in helping the boys take down the baddies. Although the plot of the sequel is under wraps, considering her return, she may play a bigger role this time. 

The actress is mostly known for her rom-com roles. She gained fame with Disney’s High School Musical and then starred in Netflix’s The Princess Switch franchise. The 34-year-old also appeared alongside Andrew Garfield in tick, tick…BOOM! She had brushes with action too when she starred in Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch. 

More about the Bad Boys 4 starring Will Smith

The movie is currently in pre-production and filming is to begin soon. Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi will helm the sequel again after the last outing was an ultimate smash. Outside their Bad Boys project, the duo is mostly known for their work in Ms. Marvel, Rebel, and Snowfall. They were also supposed to get the director’s credit for Batgirl. However, the movie was scrapped in post-production. Interestingly, it was the Men in Black actor who offered some advice to the pair during their tough time.  

Chris Bremner has penned the script. Chad Oman, Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad are producing Bad Boys 4. Will Smith is also producing the flick through Westbrook. Like the 54-year-old, Lawrence is executive producing the flick apart from starring in it. James Lassiter, Barry Waldman, Jon Mone, and Mike Stenson are also part of the executive producers’ team.
